#Tank wars 2 player how to
For more information on how to get the gear to play these builds, how to play specific roles in the composition, and the mechanics of the fights you will want to use these builds in, check out these guides: The two most powerful boons to share to your party are Alacrity and Quickness, so builds that can provide permanent uptime of these boons to a 5-player group will also have these icons next to them.Įvery 5 players in a balanced composition will usually have 1 Support and 4 DPS, or 1 Support, 3 DPS, and 1 utility class that can be a hybrid between Tank/DPS/Support. While Fractals and Strikes may be simplified to only DPS and Support, Raids are more complex and may require Tanks and Kiters to handle specific mechanics. Kiter – Can be considered an off-tank, but will generally be far from the group with a build that can survive by itself to perform a specific mechanic but still provide to the party from range.Must be able to survive the bosses attacks while positioning it to help the other party members perform their roles more easily. Tank – Attracts the attention of the boss using toughness or some other specific mechanic.Support – Keep their party alive with healing and provide boons.DPS – Focus on dealing damage and surviving with their aggressive set up.There are four Roles that builds can perform in a group: These builds are robust and include enough utility to be useful in a variety of bosses and situations, not just for optimizing uptimes.
While they are mainly oriented for the most challenging PvE content in the game, Raids, they will perform just as well and are recommended for Fractals and Strike Missions. you will also being the one always resing people wondering why they die so fast because you are melting things almost has fast or faster well becouse you are not dieing has often if at all. This is a list with the most viable and accessible builds for PvE Endgame. This ranger build you can solo almost anything and in group events. I saw some builds like engineer with hammer looking fun, any thoughs on that ? I was wondering what would be for you the class/build that is the closest to a tank in general and is viable in both pve and pvp ?Īlso I don't wanna force it, I mean playing a class with a tanky build just to feel tank isn't fun if the build is really bad.
I played GW2 years ago and wanted to play back with friends with a new character and since then I've been a big main tank in endgame pve content in many games, and pvp aswell. Hey, so first I just wanna say that I perfectly know there is no trinity and no tanking like I can be used to in other mmos. (In instanced PvE the meta is more like dps + support - the supports typically fill the role of the tank in other games when it comes to mitigating mechanics, like by giving everyone Stability so the boss can't knock them down, or reflecting their ranged attacks.) A build like Condi Revenant isn't able to taunt enemies like a traditional MMO tank, but you can scoop them all together into one big pile, jump in the middle of that pile, and Chill them all so they can't run away. Many of these builds are condi builds with Celestial or Trailblazer gear, and traits optimized for sustain, Protection uptime, &c. … is pretty viable in open world and small-scale World vs. Kill enemies through damage that "ramps up" a bit Tend to get enemies "stuck" so they're not chasing your friendsģ. (You *can* do a bit of that in raids.)īut a more general kind of "tank"/"fighter" playstyle like you'd see in many non-MMO games, where you're:Ģ.
In most cases, you're not gonna be able to do the thing where you can stand there and have the boss focus on you to the exclusion of your allies like in FF14 or something.
